Magicjack works like a standard phone--You get a regular telephone number, incoming and outgoing calls, and a host of "regular" features but there is an initial investment of $39.95 plus shipping and handling. This gives you one year of calling to the USA and Canada. You can purchase an additional year's service for $19.95. So, while it is not totally free, it is a great price.
There are other free Internet phone services but they have received poor customer reviews so we have not listed them here. If you want superior service you should consider a paid Internet phone company.
